Outschool Gift Cards are available for purchase and can be used toward any Outschool class for learners ages 1–18. Gift cards are non-refundable. This article explains how to buy a gift card, how recipients redeem it, and how gift card balance is applied at checkout.
Gift Cards and Outschool Membership
Gift cards add funds to your Outschool account as a stored balance. An active Outschool membership is still required to enroll learners in new classes. A gift card does not replace membership. If you have gift card funds, you can use that balance to pay for your membership before enrolling in classes.
Purchasing a Gift Card
To purchase a Gift Card on Outschool, make sure you are first logged into your account. If you do not have an Outschool account, you will need to create one here in order to purchase your Gift Card.
Next, go to outschool.com/giftcard, and use the Buy a gift card button to begin your purchase.
Select the gift card amount, enter the recipient information, and click Buy Now.
Once you complete your purchase, you’ll see your gift card order number and your recipient’s redemption code. You’ll receive a receipt immediately, and the recipient will receive their gift card via email on the chosen delivery date (optional).
If you’re a parent purchasing a gift card for your learner, check the box Send this gift card to myself to have the gift card automatically applied to your account.
Redeeming your Gift Card
When you receive a gift card from Outschool, you’ll see it appear immediately in your email inbox. To redeem your gift, either click the Claim your Outschool gift card button or go to outschool.com/redeem to redeem your gift.
If you’re not already an Outschool parent, you’ll be asked to create an account with us.
If you already have an Outschool account and are logged in, redeem your gift card by entering your redemption code at outschool.com/giftcard/redeem, or via the link in your emailed gift card from Outschool.
Once redeemed, you’ll see a purchase confirmation. You’ll also see your Gift Card appear on the enrollment form when you purchase a class.
Purchasing a Class with a Gift Card
To enroll a learner in a class using gift card funds, you must first have an active Outschool membership. A gift card does not replace the requirement for membership.
Once your membership is active, you can use your gift card balance during class enrollment:
Go to Outschool.com and select the class you want to enroll in.
Continue to the enrollment form.
Your available gift card balance will appear and apply automatically if eligible.
If the class cost exceeds your gift card balance, the remaining amount will be charged using your other available payment method.
If you’re enrolling in a class using a gift card for a learner under the age of 13, you’ll be asked to provide consent to the enrollment by first agreeing to Outschool’s privacy policy, specifically COPPA, to ensure you understand our practices related to your learner’s safety and security on our platform.
You’ll be asked to enter your credit card information for the limited purpose of providing identity verification. In other words, your use of a credit card serves as proof that you are the learner’s parent or guardian.
If you’re paying for your enrollment with a gift card, you will not be charged for the class. You’ll only be charged to the credit card on file once you exceed the amount of the gift card on your account, as shown below.
Having a gift card balance does not remove the requirement to have an active Outschool membership in order to enroll in new classes. Gift card funds are applied as stored balance after membership is active.
If you use a gift card to purchase a Recurring Weekly Class, your gift card balance will be charged for the class's weekly subscription fee until your balance is depleted. Then the subscription will be charged to your credit card on file.
You can view your account balance and all Outschool transactions on your Transactions page.
