Outschool Mobile App Support

Access your account and classes from your mobile device by downloading the free Outschool app for iOS or Android.

Outschool's mobile app makes it easy for both parents and learners to stay connected on the go. With the app, you can manage class schedules, join live video meetings, send messages to teachers, and stay updated from your phone or tablet.

Supported Devices & Requirements

To access Outschool on your mobile device, we recommend downloading our free app from the appropriate app store:

Logging In

There are two ways to log into the mobile app:

  • Parent email and password: You can view and manage all learners associated with your parent account, including their individual schedules, messages, and enrollments.

  • Learner email: If a learner's login was created on the web, the learner can log in directly to see their classes.

Enabling Notifications

Upon logging in, you’ll be prompted to enable notifications. These include:

  • Class reminders

  • Classroom announcements

  • Classroom comments

  • Teacher messages

You can adjust these settings anytime via your device's notification settings.

Navigating Learner Profiles

After logging in, tap a learner to view their:

  • Upcoming class schedule

  • Live meeting links

  • Teacher messages

  • Class announcements

  • Assignments and recordings

Each learner profile has a Classes tab that displays scheduled meetings in chronological order.

Accessing the Parent Profile

To switch to the Parent profile:

  • Tap the parent icon

  • Answer a challenge question to proceed (if applicable)

  • Access additional tabs: Schedule, Marketplace, Messages, and Profile & Settings

Class Management

From the Schedule tab (Parent profile), you can:

  • View upcoming classes for all learners

  • Use the Calendar view or All Classes filter

  • Tap into a class to access Manage Enrollment options:

    • Stop

    • Pause

    • Transfer

    • Message Teacher

Class Discovery & Enrolling

Use the Marketplace tab to:

  • Search for classes using filters like day, time, and age

  • View class descriptions, teacher information, and reviews

  • Enroll in classes

Enrolling in Classes

  • Browse classes in the Marketplace tab.

  • For plan changes and credit balance management, visit the Transactions page on the Outschool site.

  • Credits can be used to enroll in classes from the app.

Favorites

  • Tap the heart icon on class listings to save Favorites

  • Organize classes into custom lists synced with the web experience

Profile & Settings

The Profile & Settings section includes:

  • Public/Private Settings (read-only)

  • Learner Profiles

  • Transaction History

  • App Version Info

Settings must be updated on the Outschool website.

Chat Groups

Chat groups are not supported on mobile apps. To access chat group enrollments, enter the classroom from the Learner Schedule on a web browser.

Purchasing Gift Cards:

To purchase a gift card:

  1. Tap the Balance icon

  2. Select Create a Gift Card

Note: iOS users may see a “Buy Now” option when purchasing an Outschool voucher through the mobile app. This uses Apple’s in-app payment system and includes an Apple transaction fee.

If you purchased an Outschool voucher through the app and haven’t used it to make an Outschool purchase, please contact Apple Support to inquire about a refund.

As the purchase was made through Apple, Outschool cannot issue refunds for in-app purchases to your credit card.

Please note this fee doesn’t apply when purchasing a gift card or membership plan on the Outschool website.

Logging Out

To log out:

  1. Tap Profile in the bottom menu

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Scroll down and select Log Out

Troubleshooting Tips

If the app isn’t working as expected:

  • iOS: Uninstall and reinstall from the App Store

  • Android: Clear Storage in App Info, or uninstall/reinstall from Google Play
