What classes can I teach?

We encourage you to teach classes on topics you are passionate about and experienced with, and ideally that you have taught before. We welcome classes on all subjects and in all formats, for learners ages 3-18. Outschool does not support classes for adults, but parents of young children are welcome to attend classes with their learners. We generally suggest offering a range of classes including short-form introductory classes that meet 1-4 times, as well as longer-form semester-long classes. We have found it hard to predict what classes are popular on Outschool! So we suggest listing a range of options and then iterating based on the response. All classes should involve significant interaction with the teacher - we do not sell curriculum or self-paced classes.

What times should I schedule classes?

Outschool educators set their own class times, and there are no minimum or maximum teaching hours required. The global nature of our learning community lends itself to flexibility in scheduling class times. Classes in the afternoons or evenings (where families are located) may fare better than mid-day classes, but it can fluctuate with seasons. You can always consult these tips for scheduling classes to meet demand.

What type of technology do I need to teach on Outschool?

All you need to teach is an internet connection speed of at least 3 Mbps and a computer that is able to run Zoom video conferencing. Read more about technical requirements for teaching on Outschool.
