How to use your state’s ESA, microgrant, or scholarship funds to buy Outschool’s program-funded wallets in select ClassWallet states

Overview

Education Savings Accounts (program-funds) and Microgrants provide eligible families with state-funded financial support for educational expenses, including tutoring, educational therapies, and more.

Families purchase program-funded wallets with their ESA, microgrant, and scholarship funds through ClassWallet in the following programs:

What are Program-funded wallet funds?

Program-funded wallets are non-transferable Outschool funds provided through state Program-Funded, microgrant, or scholarship programs. They are used specifically for state-approved Outschool classes and are subject to both Outschool and state-specific guidelines.

These funds:

  • Are tied to the learner who is the recipient of the ESA, microgrant, or scholarship funds.

  • Can only be used on Outschool for classes approved under your state program.

  • May expire or be returned to the state program if the learner becomes ineligible or the program ends.

Purchasing program-funded wallet funds through ClassWallet

Families can use their program-funded, microgrant, or scholarship funds in ClassWallet to purchase program-funded wallet funds directly in ClassWallet.

  1. Log in to your ClassWallet account and navigate to the marketplace. Then, select Outschool

  2. Shop for classes that are eligible in your state

    1. At checkout, select the learner that you are shopping for and the amount that meets your needs.

  3. Then select Checkout on ClassWallet and complete your order in your ClassWallet account.

Once your order has been approved, you can view your balance from your transactions page on Outschool.com. Program-funded wallet funds can be used on any class approved by your state.

Program-funded wallet funds are non-transferable and can only be used for eligible state program-funded-approved Outschool classes. They may be subject to both state and Outschool restrictions.
