AI Teaching Assistant
The AI Teaching Assistant streamlines the feedback process and saves teachers valuable time. Just jot down your notes and click Show Me the Magic.
The AI Teaching Assistant will create a descriptive and concise summary based on your input. Choose the one that best fits your needs.
Click Send Note to Family to automatically send the selected summary from your account to the learner's family. You can also review all previously sent notes in the parent message history.
Accessing the AI Teaching Assistant
For Tutoring Classes: Find the AI Teaching Assistant in the Note Maker tab of a learner's enrollment.
For Live Group Classes: Select the learner from the dropdown menu on the Enrolled roster in the classroom.
Tips for Success
Provide Key Details: Enter 2-3 bullet points summarizing your feedback to help the AI Teaching Assistant generate accurate notes.
Focus on Content: Don't worry about style, structure, or spelling errors; these will be automatically corrected. A concise summary might be more appropriate for shorter feedback.
Review Carefully: Always check the suggested note before sending it to ensure it meets our Community Standards and is accurate.
Privacy Matters: Share feedback only with the learner's parents or guardians, and avoid including any personal information like names, locations, identities, or medical details.
Family Experience: AI Teaching Assistant
Families receive the message directly from you.
Messages sent through the AI Teaching Assistant replace the general class update for that meeting.
Automatic Meeting Updates
Automatic meeting updates keep families informed about what was covered in your classes. After each session, Outschool summarizes the teacher’s portion of the Zoom transcript to create a short update. The recap is automatically sent to families by email and is also saved with that meeting’s recording so it can be revisited alongside the video.
Accessing and Managing Automatic Meeting Updates
When a recap is ready, you’ll see a banner notification.
Visit the Classroom tab after your class.
Review the generated recap and choose to edit, skip, or let it auto-send. You will have 4 hours to take action before it sends automatically.
Individual teachers and organization administrators can manage automatic meeting updates from the Marketing tab.
NOTE: The summary included in the parent email reflects the version that was live at the time it was sent and will not update if changes are made later.
Additional details about summaries:
You can view and edit past summaries at any time from the meeting’s recording page.
Turning off or skipping automatic class summaries prevents them from appearing beneath the recording or being sent by email.
Recording sharing settings are managed separately. Turning off summaries does not affect whether recordings are shared.
Turning summaries back on applies only to future recordings and will not generate summaries for past meetings.
Family Experience: Automatic Meeting Updates
Families can access shared recordings and their summaries from the Recordings tab on the enrollment management page, where the most recent class summary appears directly.
By default, families see a neutral, bulleted summary attached to each shared recording.
Parents can choose whether to receive recap emails in their email settings
Parent replies to recap emails appear in your Conversations if they have follow-up questions.
