Rebooking with ClassWallet funds for Arizona ESA families

How refunds and rebooking work when you use Arizona ESA funds through ClassWallet

If you use Arizona ESA funds through ClassWallet, Outschool is making it faster to rebook when a class is canceled or your enrollment is refunded.

Instead of sending the eligible state-funded portion of your payment back through ClassWallet, Outschool will add that amount to your account as restricted wallet. You can use the wallet funds right away to enroll the same learner in another state-approved class.

What happens when a class is canceled or refunded?

When an eligible enrollment paid with Arizona ESA funds is canceled or refunded, the state-funded portion of your payment is added to your Outschool account as restricted wallet.

You can use those wallet funds to book another eligible class without waiting for a refund to be processed through ClassWallet.

This can reduce rebooking time from two or more weeks to just a few minutes.

How do I use my ClassWallet refund?

When you enroll the same learner in another state-approved class, eligible restricted wallet funds can be applied toward that enrollment.

The credit must remain associated with the learner who received the original state funds.

Which classes can I book with the credit?

ClassWallet-funded wallets can only be used toward state-approved classes on Outschool.

It cannot be used for classes that are not eligible for the applicable state-funded program.

Can I use the credit for another learner?

No. State-funded wallet funds are:

  • Limited to the learner who received the original funding

  • Non-transferable to another learner

  • Non-transferable to another family member

What if I used another payment method for part of the enrollment?

Only the state-funded portion of your payment follows this streamlined process. Any portion paid using another payment method—such as a promo code or separate card payment—is unaffected and will continue to follow Outschool’s existing refund process.

Can I have the credit sent back to ClassWallet?

State-funded refunds will generally remain available on Outschool as restricted wallet funds rather than being returned through ClassWallet.

If the learner is no longer eligible to use the state funds, the remaining funds can be returned to the state on a case-by-case basis.

How are these funds tracked?

Outschool tracks when restricted wallet funds are issued and how it is used. These records are auditable, and reporting can be made available to ESA administrators and ClassWallet upon request.

Why is Outschool changing this process?

Refunds processed through ClassWallet can take two or more weeks. During that time, families may need to wait before they can book a replacement class.

Keeping eligible state-funded amounts available as restricted wallets on Outschool removes the separate refund-and-repurchase process. Families can rebook more quickly while the funds remain restricted to approved educational uses.
