Choosing how to pay for Outschool

Do I need a membership to take a class on Outschool?

A membership is not required to take a class on Outschool. You can browse classes, view schedules and pricing, choose a time, and enroll by checking out with a payment method.

How is paying per class different from membership?

When you pay per class, you enroll in individual classes at the listed price. With a membership, your monthly payment goes toward credits you use for class enrollments, with additional benefits like the member library (100+ self-paced classes), savings from bonus credits and no marketplace fee, and Concierge support.

How do I know which option is right for my family?

If you’re looking to try one or two classes first, paying per class is a great way to start. If your family takes multiple classes a month, membership can be a better fit, with your monthly payment applied to class enrollments and additional benefits like the member library, savings, and Concierge support. Why was a membership required before, but not anymore?

Membership continues to be a great fit for families who take classes regularly, with your monthly payment applied to class enrollments and additional benefits like the member library, savings, and Concierge support.

How can I come back after canceling my membership?

You can enroll in any class directly, without starting a membership. Outschool continues to expand its catalog with new classes and topics, giving families more options to find the right fit. You can also restart your membership at any time.

Switching between paying per class and membership

How do I switch from paying per class to membership?

To switch from paying per class to membership, start a membership plan at any time. Once you join, your monthly payment goes toward credits you can use for class enrollments and additional membership benefits.

How do I switch from membership to paying per class?

To switch from membership to paying per class, cancel your membership. You’ll continue to have access through the end of your billing cycle and can use any remaining credits. You can also pause your membership for up to 12 weeks to keep using your credits without receiving new ones, and cancel before it resumes to prevent renewal.

What happens to my classes if I switch between options?

Any classes you’re already enrolled in are not affected when you switch. Your learner will remain enrolled as scheduled. Going forward, enrollments will be paid with credits if you have a membership, or with your saved payment method if you’re paying per class.
