Getting Ready for Music Classes
If your learner is taking a music class, you can adjust audio settings in Zoom. This helps Zoom pick up musical instruments or singing more clearly, as Zoom’s default settings are optimized for speech.
We Recommend:
Enabling the Original Sound for Musicians Zoom setting. This setting can be turned on in your Zoom settings and activated in each meeting. Once it's on, play the instrument as usual and check that the microphone's Input Level shows green activity. This represents good audio quality.
Using an external microphone (if available) placed near the instrument
Test your setup ahead of time by starting a Zoom Test Meeting.
Zoom also offers advanced options like High-Fidelity Music Mode and Live Performance Audio, which may improve sound further.
