Overview

Education Spending Accounts (ESAs), Microgrants, and state scholarships enable eligible families to utilize state-provided funds for educational opportunities, including therapies, tutoring, and more. Eligible families in West Virginia can now purchase credit bundles on their state’s marketplace to be used for state-approved Outschool classes. This article addresses frequently asked questions and provides answers for prospective and existing Outschool families with public funding.

What are Program-funded credit bundles?

Program-funded credit bundles (Learning Passports) are non-transferable Outschool credits funded through state ESA, microgrant, or scholarship programs. They are used specifically for state-approved Outschool classes and are subject to both Outschool and state-specific guidelines.

These credits:

  • Are tied to the learner who is the recipient of the ESA, microgrant, or scholarship funds.

  • Can only be used on Outschool for classes approved under your state program.

  • May expire or be returned to the state program if the learner becomes ineligible or the program ends.
