Glossary and FAQ of insights on your dashboard

Updated over 5 months ago

We share several stats on your Educator Dashboard, and more detailed stats on the Insights tab. Use this glossary and FAQ to better understand the data.

Stats at the top of the Dashboard

Sections in Progress

This is the number of sections that are currently in-progress, including recurring weekly and fixed-length classes. Sections that meet just once are not included in this number.

Available Classes

The number of listed classes that are available for parents to enroll in. This means they must have upcoming sections that still have spaces.

Re-enrollment Rate

The percent of learners who have enrolled with you more than once. Many educators build their business off of repeat learners.

Average Star Rating

The average rating across all the ratings you have received, on a five-point scale. Like most e-commerce sites, ratings on a five-point scale tend to skew high.

Followers

The number of Outschool parents that have followed you using the Follow button on your public educator profile.

Learners Taught

The number of unique learners that have enrolled in a section of yours that has already started.

Upcoming Classes

The Upcoming Classes section will list the first five classes scheduled in the next 14 days. If there are no classes scheduled, it will display “You don’t have any upcoming classes.”

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: If a learner is enrolled in a class that hasn’t begun, will they be counted in any of my stats?

A: No. Future events (e.g. upcoming payouts, learners enrolled in the future) are not captured in these stats, other than the "Enrollments" count in the Class Breakdowns table.

Q: What if they are enrolled in a class that has started but not completed?

A: Meetings that have taken place will count towards hours taught. Learners will count as soon as class has begun.

Q: If I showed up for a class and no learner attended, will that count towards hours taught?

A: Yes. Hours taught is a sum of meeting time scheduled for any section with enrollments. If you delete a meeting time when editing the section, that meeting will not count towards hours taught.

Q: In the monthly summary table, if a learner is enrolled in a class that spanned multiple months, which month do they count towards?

A: In the monthly summary, if a learner took a class that started on September 15th and ended on October 5th, that learner will be counted towards both September 2020 and October 2020.

Q: If a section began more than 90 days ago, but ended within the last 90 days, how will it be counted?

A: The class breakdown only counts data from the prior 90 days. Meetings for the section that were within the last 90 days will count towards hours taught. All learners, other than withdrawn learners, will count towards learners taught. This includes earnings paid out in the last 90 days.

Q: When a learner enrolls in multiple classes, which re-enrollment rate do they count towards?

A: In the class breakdown, a learner will count as a re-enrollment for any class enrollment that was followed by another enrollment. If learner L purchased class A, then class B, then class C (and L was the only enrollment for all 3 classes), then A and B would have a re-enrollment rate of 100% and C would have a rate of 0%.

Q: A learner enrolled in a class of mine more than 90 days ago, and then re-enrolled in a different class, less than 90 days ago. Will they be counted?

A: For the class breakdown, a learner who enrolled more than 90 days ago will not be counted towards your re-enrollment rate for that class.
